Last month, Wynn Resorts presented publicly the conditions about its casino project of $ 1.2 billion to be built on the former industrial site of Mystic River, in Massachusetts. This week, the giant Las Vegas-based casino presented the terms of its agreement with the City of Everett and the State of Massachusetts. Published on Thursday, the agreement provides that Wynn Resorts will pay $ 30 million to the City of Everett and an annual payment of more than $ 25 million once the casino opens its doors.
Wynn Resorts will also pay an annual fee of $ 2.5 million for the hotel, restaurant and its gambling room where slot machines, live blackjack and other table games will be available. The agreement also states that Wynn Resorts should achieve the construction of the former Monsanto chemical plant and hire residents of the city in its resort and casino. However, no payment would be made if the Commission does not approve the application of Wynn Resorts for the only one casino license in eastern Massachusetts. A referendum is expected on June 22.
