PokerStars : The acquisition project of casino Atlantic Club fails

After the legalization of online gambling, including poker, in New Jersey, PokerStars wanted to be the first to acquire a license to operate online poker. After several months of negotiation with Colony Capital LLC, PokerStars sees its project falling into the water. The reason given? The $ 30 million proposed by the buyer would not be enough for this only State-owned gambling institution in New Jersey. But it would not be too much to say that the failure of negotiations is partially due to fervent contesting of the AGA. The American Gaming Association has a grudge against the world leader in online poker. The latter has, in fact, asserted that PokerStars is a « criminal company for years ».
