France: Battle cards game authorized in land based casino

Since a few years, the market of casino in France knows a continual contraction reverberating on the business turnover of operators. After a trial period, the card game Battle has been authorized to be added to casino games offer. That follows the request of casinos owner near the Minister of the Interior which invites to introduce new games in order to revive the activity. The 196 French casinos are then authorized to offer Battle beside other players’ preferred games such as slot machines, poker, Black Jack Live, baccarat and so on. The Minister of the Interior also allowed the trial of new games in casinos, with the possibility to extend its duration for a maximal period of six months. The “Roue de la chance” is part of the six other games in trial phase. As a reminder, the Gross Gaming Revenue emphasized a recession of 1.8% to euro 2.275 billion for the fiscal year of 2012. And this contraction increased this year with a regress of 4% during the five first months of 2013.
